Widener University Welcomes Four New Trustees

Widener University is pleased to announce four alumni as the newest members of its board of trustees. Their appointments took effect in May, and the board held its first full meeting of the new academic year Oct. 29.

As the university’s governing body, Widener’s board of trustees is entrusted with the institution’s long-term success. The board monitors and oversees critical aspects of the university, including educational quality, financial strength, mission and the student experience. The new trustees include:

  • John Barry, ‘02, co-CEO and founder of HRBench. He holds a degree in electrical engineering from the School of Engineering.

  • Chris Hylen, ’82, retired technology executive. He holds a degree in engineering from the School of Engineering and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

  • Catherine Dauphinais Schaefer, ’88, CEO and founder of The Bookkeeper Repairman, Inc. She holds a degree in accounting from the School of Business Administration.

  • Jason Duff, ’96, clinical and operational psychologist currently embedded with the U.S. Marine Corps in Okinawa, Japan. He holds a degree in nursing from the Jack & Nancy Dwyer School of Nursing.

“We are thrilled to welcome our four new trustees to the Widener University board of trustees,” said President Stacey Robertson. “Each brings a unique perspective, experience, and commitment that will strengthen our board and support our mission to provide the best possible experience for every student. We look forward to working together and deepening the culture of belonging that defines the Widener experience.”
