Undergraduate students
Students considering a career in public relations, advertising, integrated marketing communications, social media, event planning, and business communication should join the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA). Widener PRSSA members network with guest speakers, alumni, and other PRSSA chapters in the Philadelphia region. PRSSA members have numerous leadership opportunities and make professional industry connections prior to graduation.

The Q&A is a digital zine devoted to all forms of queer expression. From prose to poetry to photography to painting, the Q&A showcases writing and visual art by LGBTQ+ individuals from around the world.
Undergraduate students
The Blue Route is an online undergraduate literary journal run by Widener students and faculty that publishes short fiction, poetry, and creative nonfiction written by undergraduate writers from any school other than our own. There is a great deal of emerging talent in the undergraduate population that is showcased in the journal. Contributors are paid $25 upon publication.
Undergraduate students who have completed COMS 260 or have special permission
Widener Sports Network and WUFilms provide additional out-of-the-classroom opportunities for advanced students to develop their skills in broadcasting, live sports coverage, film directing and production, and screenwriting. Students are encouraged to work with industry-standard equipment to cover live sporting events on the playing field. Advanced film students create documentaries and short films for film festivals and other competitions.

Widener Ink, a literary journal published each spring, takes student submissions of fiction, poetry, nonfiction, drama, and art. Additionally, working on the journal's staff gives students hands-on experience in editing and publishing.
Undergraduate students
Widener Productions is a television and film production broadcast facility in the Communication Studies Department. Widener Productions incorporates various clubs, including WUTV, WideCast Radio, Widener Sports Network, and WUFilms, offering students a chance to work behind the scenes or onscreen in a real production team.

All students, faculty, and staff
WUCAST (formerly WDNR) members produce programs and podcasts using industry-standard software and can be heard around the world on our streaming station. The WUCAST facilities are also designed for recording music using MIDI technology and traditional vocals and instruments. Students can hold leadership roles such as program host, program director, and general manager.

Undergraduate students
WUTV is the student-managed television studio on campus. Students pitch show ideas and work as both talent and crew for all productions. WUTV also produces programming outside of the studio, from sporting events to debates.
