Why Join Us?
This is a wonderful opportunity to make a difference in the Chester community by participating in service projects and standing together in unity. Whether you can attend the entire event or just part of it, your presence will contribute to the spirit of service and solidarity that Dr. King championed.
As we think about the visionary that Dr. King was, the MLK Day of Service has been themed "Reclaiming the dream." It is a powerful phrase that speaks to restoring the promise of truth, justice, and community much like Dr. Kings' vision and personal journey of overcoming adversity and rebuilding aspirations, often involving community action, policy changes, or individual resilience. It signifies a conscious effort to regain something lost, whether it's the idealized American dream, racial justice, or personal hope, through renewed effort, vision, and collective action.
The day will feature inspiring speakers, community service activities, and moments to connect with one another. Your presence helps keep Dr. King’s message alive on our campus and in our daily lives.
