Social Work CEU: Elevating Practice: Ethics and Clinical Supervision

Participants will dive into clinical supervision and engage in discussions and group practices that highlight potential ethical issues that may present challenges when working with supervisees. Participants will explore challenges and discuss trauma-informed practices and guidelines for supervision practices.

About the presenters:

Christina Gigler MSW, LCSW: Professor Gigler has over 30 years of social work practice experience in clinical and administrative roles, as well as in academic graduate level roles. She enjoys teaching in-person and online, utilizing a variety of teaching methods to engage students in a student-centered and experiential learning process. Professor Gigler strives to model the ethos of social work values and ethics in her interactions with others, whether engaged in teaching, mentoring, collaborating, or in social work practice with individuals, families, groups, and communities.

Rebecca Vlam MSS, LCSW: Professor Vlam is committed toward social justice advocacy, particularly around matters involving diversity, equity and inclusion. They have been an active member of NASW-PA throughout their social work career and currently serving on the NASW-PA Ethics Committee. Professor Vlam is involved in volunteer leadership positions in their community serving youth and families. They have facilitated local, regional, state and national presentations on topics of clinical supervision, field instruction, crisis intervention, social media, self-care and ethics. Professor Vlam is excited to be a part of Widener’s Center for Social Work Education and am committed to work to empower others through learning, teaching, modeling, advocacy and service.

RegisterCEU events and CEUs are free for current Widener students, faculty, and field instructors. Widener alumni need to pay $10; everyone else, $25. Payment will be collected at the end of the event. After the event, you will be emailed your certificate.
