For the third year in a row, Widener and the Philadelphia Union teamed up to give area high school students a look at the many career options for working in professional sports.

Over the course of three days, students from Malvern Preparatory School, West Chester East High School and Plymouth Whitemarsh High School went behind the scenes at the Unionโ€™s home of Subaru Park and the newly opened WSFS Bank Sportsplex exploring the concourse, high-end hospitality experiences, fan shop, press room, and Kinetic Physical Therapy WSFS Bank Sportsplex location.

Students heard from Widener faculty and students from sport and event management, communication studies and physical therapy. In addition, Union staff members shared about their roles working with players and fans. Sessions covered topics like sports communications, high-end hospitality and concessions, merchandise sales, ticketing, player physical health and wellness and more.
