Nursing Clinics
Widener Community Nursing Clinics offer pro bono medical care to uninsured/underinsured individuals in the Chester community.
Providing High-Quality, Accessible Health Care
Since 2011, the nursing clinic has been offering pro bono medical care to uninsured/underinsured residents of the City of Chester and the surrounding communities.
In 2021, Widener University expanded its reach, partnering with community organizations to extend its community health care services with additional clinic locations in Chester.
By expanding our locations, we are able to fulfill our mission of offering affordable and accessible care to individuals and families throughout the community.
Patient Services Provided
The clinic provides the following services:
- Physical examinations
- Episodic and chronic disease management
- Health promotion and disease prevention
- Referrals to support groups and other needed resources
- Essential education programs and individual patient education
Wollman Hall does not offer women's health or pediatric services, but St. Paul's is available to provide these services.
We appreciate donations to support patient care.
Hands-On Patient Care Experiences for Our Students
The clinic also provides our nursing students with valuable experience in non-hospital settings. The clinic is staffed by nurse practitioners and registered nurses from the School of Nursing faculty, students, alumni, and community volunteers.
Throughout my time at the clinic, I have formed relationships with patients by helping them and listening to their concerns. The clinic provides a caring place for community members, and for students, a place to strengthen their skills and gain experience. — Caroline McCoy '22
