About Me

I began my nursing career as a diploma nurse in a nursing school and continued my education up to the doctoral level while working in several different specialties of nursing. My belief is that nursing is a vocation; I was called to become a nurse. This profession is inspiring to me, and I want to share my passion for nursing with others.

My philosophy of teaching includes having students feeling valued and respected while also giving back this respect to myself and the patients they serve. I strongly believe that if students are comfortable with me then learning can become an easier process. I value the use of multiple teaching strategies to engage students as well as reach those who learn in different ways. It is my goal for students to have an understanding of the science of nursing as well as the art of nursing.

Research Interests

My research interests include: end-of-life nursing education; end-of-life nursing care; and mentoring.
