About Me
My teaching interests are corporate finance, investment/portfolio analysis, international finance, financial planning, financial markets and institutions, and micro/macro economics. As a teacher, I always focus on creating interest in the topics, accordingly motivating my students to be more creative in their thinking and relating subject areas to their everyday lives. I emphasize establishing a solid critical thinking process and analytical power with which students can understand social science issues and events in the real world. I believe teaching is more complete through interacting with students, mentoring students, and working together with students.
I received a PhD degree in financial economics from University of New Orleans after completing and receiving masters degrees in finance and financial economics from Mississippi State University and University of New Orleans, respectively. In addition to the academic achievement, I worked as a portfolio manager and a financial consultant in South Korea and the United States for several years.
Research Interests
My research interests in finance are corporate governance, CEO compensation, empirical asset pricing, investment/portfolio analysis, finance pedagogy, and macroeconomic factors. My dissertation focuses on subjects in corporate finance.
