    Program Overview

Not everyone has a clear idea of what they want to study when they enter college. And it's OK to be undecided. At Widener, we'll help you figure out the direction that fits your interests and goals without skipping a beat and staying on track for graduation.

Through our Exploratory Studies program, you can get a taste of the many different academic majors available to you. Maybe you want to try a business management course, or see what our English majors or digital media informatics majors do. We've got a lot to offer! Our career counselors are also here to help you explore ideas to find your right fit major based on your strengths, interests, and career goals.

As you explore our programs, you'll also be working one-on-one with specially-trained academic advisors and professors who understand the different curriculum tracks and university requirements. They'll help you decide what courses to take based on these requirements and your interests.

Most students who enter Widener with an undeclared major decide on a program after their first year. But you can remain in Exploratory Studies for up to two years and graduate ready to jump start your career right on time. So why not take the time to explore some options? We've got your back.

Don't be scared to not know what you want to do yet with your life. This Exploratory Studies program is the best thing that has ever happened to me. My advisor was amazing—always knew how to help when I needed assistance and she set me right on track for my next two years at Widener. — Melanie Leeland, finance major
