About Me

I am an accomplished Assistant Professor specializing in Strategic Management at the School of Business Administration. I'm also a distinguished board member of the Brazilian American Chamber of Commerce – Southeast since 2018. My commitment to education extends to my role as an esteemed Instructor at the Institute of International Business within the J. Mack Robinson School of Business at Georgia State University since 2018.

Notably, I received the GTA Teaching Award for the 2019-2020 academic year. With expertise spanning diverse domains, I previously contributed to various departments at IBMEC-RJ, Brazil, and bring insights from my tenure at the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency as well as my fifteen-year senior executive experience in a French multinational company.

    Business Faculty Publishes New Book Chapter on International Business Education

    Maria Luiza Pinho, assistant professor in the School of Business Administration, has co-authored a chapter in a newly published book “The Historical Evolution of International Business: A Global Perspective.”

    Pinho co-authored the chapter “The Evolution of IB Teaching Content: Analysis of IB Textbooks and Syllabi,” which provides a data-driven, historical analysis of how international business has been taught across institutions and time. The peer-reviewed chapter synthesizes insights from over six decades of textbooks and academic syllabi, revealing the thematic shifts and pedagogical patterns that have shaped how generations of students and scholars have engaged with international business. Pinho’s chapter has received numerous positive reviews from respected members of the field.

    Business Faculty Presents at Two AIB Conferences

    Maria Pinho, assistant professor of strategic management, will present at both the US Northeast and US Southeast Chapter Conferences of the Academy of International Business (AIB). 

    Pinho and co-presenters will share their works “Agility & Resilience in Emerging Market Multinationals: Integrating two faces of the Same Coin,” and “The Role of Multinational Enterprises in Addressing Societal Tensions: A Review of Business-Society Frameworks.”

    For more than 60 years, AIB has been a leader in bringing international business scholars and professionals together to share ideas.
