Far & Widener Podcast: Emmy Award-winning creatives Andrew Proctor and Dakarai Daniel share how their Widener experience and teamwork led them from campus studios to redefining game day at the Washington Commanders

This episode of Far and Widener features Andrew Proctor '19 and Dakarai Daniel '19, Emmy Award-winning creatives and Widener University alumni who work for the Washington Commanders. Andrew, a game presentation producer, and Dakari, a motion graphics designer, share their journeys from Widener’s Freedom Hall to the NFL, reflecting on how their experiences in communication studies and campus media shaped their careers. They discuss the creative process behind their Emmy-winning intro video for the Commanders, which reimagined the team’s game day experience and energized fans and players alike. The conversation explores their early influences, the challenges they faced after graduation. They share how their Widener connections and a shared passion for storytelling helped them break into professional sports media and enhance fan engagement.

A new 3+3 agreement between Commonwealth Law School and Youngstown State University in Ohio is highlighted. Dean andré douglas pond cummings and Associate Dean of Admissions Matthew Kerns are both featured speaking about the new agreement and benefits for students.

Good Day Uncut: Work In Sport Experience

Good Day Uncut spent Tuesday morning at the Work in Sports program for high school students, hosted in partnership between Widener University and the Philadelphia Union. This 30-minute segment, broadcast live from the Union campus, features interviews with Jill Black, associate dean of the College of Health and Human Services, Courtney Kelly, associate vice president for enrollment, Sean Fatiga '27, a graduate student in the physical therapy program, as well as representatives from the Union and students from Malvern Prep.
