Here, students can choose to follow a general course of study or an accelerated 3 year pre-professional pathway. Students take courses in each of the four fields of anthropology and choose advanced electives that cater to their individual interests. The program is designed to be flexible, encouraging students to adopt a dual major or minor in complementary fields of study.
Our small, interactive class sizes allow you to become part of a learning community that is focused on student success and individual academic support.
Engage in Real-World Learning
You'll learn field techniques and receive training in a hands-on environment both locally and abroad. Annual field-study trips to Central America and the Caribbean are just a few places where students work collaboratively with local community members to solve challenging social problems.
With opportunities for research collaboration with faculty, and small class sizes, before long your professors and classmates will feel like a second family. You'll have the opportunity to meet with a faculty advisor regularly to discuss goals and objectives and keep you on track for graduation.
Our program offers courses in the four subfields of anthropology:
biological (physical) anthropology
This holistic learning approach provides the opportunity to explore the discipline and build career choices. By understanding all aspects of the human experience you'll be ready to make an immediate impact on the world.
"I am deeply committed to providing an enriching, supportive learning environment for all of our majors. Our small department enables us to devote personal attention to each and every student. "Teaching is another way of learning. As such, I am deeply devoted to the support and intellectual growth of my students. I pride myself in being an accessible resource for students during their academic careers, be it in the classroom, around campus or abroad in a faraway field site."
Here, you'll prepare for a fast start and long-term career success. You'll build long lasting connections with your second family of students, faculty, and staff to help you navigate your way after graduation.
